Classes and Tastings

Taste and learn about cheese, chocolate, wine, and more!

While we can't gather in person right now due to pandemic restrictions, we've taken our classes online, offering both public and private events. We have some fun plans for the spring, with more classes coming soon!

Parents - do your kids need a break from Zoom school? We'll have *free* kids' classes in the works for March, with lots of animal photos and some cooking lessons. Stay tuned!

Friday, March 19: FREE KIDS' CLASS: Moo, Baa, Maa - Cow, Sheep, and Goat Cheese

Join us for break from virtual schooling with some fun stories about our local cheesemakers and the animals they love. Pick up a tasting box at the shop for samples of cheeses made with these 3 different milks, or ask us for a shopping list and some recommendations.

Wednesday, March 24: We Can Pickle That!

Here at the Collaborative, we're committed to reducing food waste. One of the most fun (and tasty) ways to do that is to preserve all sorts of vegetables through pickling! Join Chef Max for tastes of some delicious and surprising pickles, see a demo of his technique, and get some ideas about how you can make sure every bit of your veggies are loved and preserved.

Friday, March 26: CHEESELYMPICS, Round Two: Team USA Takes on Europe

American artisan cheese has been expanding and improving at an exponential pace for the past few years. We’ll put up some of our favorite domestic cheeses against their classic European counterparts in four different categories, and you’ll be the judges. The group will taste and award Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals – and we may even have a visit from a surprise guest Olympian or two.

Wednesday, April 7: GLORIOUS GOATS

Now that this year's adorable kids are big enough to romp freely around their farms, does are producing milk for cheese again!

In this delicious and interactive event, we'll explore some of the stories behind our best-loved local goat dairies while tasting the season's first New England goat cheeses.

Here's how virtual tastings work:

  1. REGISTER FOR AN EVENT: sign up on our Eventbrite page (click the link above) or contact us at the shop for registration info.
  2. GET YOUR TASTING BOX: We can schedule local pickup at our shop or can ship class materials to residential addresses within the continental United States. (please note that we are not able to ship wine outside Massachusetts)
  3. LOG IN and LEARN: Once you've registered, we send you a link to a private, password-protected Zoom session. Tastings usually last about 45 minutes, followed by a 15 minute Q&A/informal discussion.

Private tastings are available for groups of 12 or more; please contact us for more information.
